We understand the importance of keeping your assets well-maintained, and properly and professionally inspected. It can make the difference when working with brokers, customers, drivers, and authorities (DOT, CHP, FMSCA.) It can also mean the difference between vehicles that run for years without major issues and vehicles that are hit with frequent repairs and major issues.

CHP BIT Program 90-Day Inspections
99 Glide offers thorough commercial truck and trailer inspections to guarantee conformity with the Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) regulatory requirements. For customers, we can conduct both one-time BIT inspections on all commercial assets or we can monitor and track your BIT Safety Inspections at the obligatory 90-day intervals.
We deploy our own management process in ensuring that every BIT Inspection for each unit in your fleet is meticulously overseen to ensure compliance. We utilize the standard inspection forms for 90-Day inspections recommended by CHP, our in-house out-of-service tags and stickers, and track everything in your customer portal.
In addition, we understand the CHP Level 1 Vehicle Inspection Process from the step-by-step process Certified Officers utilize to the high-medium-low priority items they are looking for at a terminal inspection or from when you roll into the scale-house to when you're signing the finalized inspection results.
Inspections will be conducted by skilled technicians who possess current and up-to-date training. Our technicians are certified, trained, and most importantly experienced in reviewing all inspection items on trucks and trailers. They ensure that commercial truck and trailer inspections are executed accurately and in strict accordance with FMCSA standards and requirements.

DOT FMSCA: Annual Inspections
DOT FMCSA requires a comprehensive annual inspection be conducted and recorded on all focus systems & areas of each commercial asset, trucks and trailers.
Annual Inspections can also be used as one of the BIT 90-Day Inspections in California. Similar to BIT Inspections - at 99 Glide - we understand the process Certified Officers utilize in Level 1 DOT Vehicle Inspections from when you're driving into the scale-house to when signing the finalized paperwork. Additionally, we are also aware of the priority items officers are usually looking out for in DOT inspections.
We conduct comprehensive DOT inspections on commercial trucks and trailers so you can keep up with compliance and regulatory statutes. We conduct inspections on the following during an Annual Inspection:
-
Brake System
-
Engine Components
-
Coupling Devices
-
Drivetrain
-
Exhaust System
-
Fuel System
-
Lighting Devices
-
Load Securement

120-Day Inspections (Non-BIT)
We also conduct inspections on commercial vehicles under 26,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR.) These vehicles may not be strictly regulated by CHP and DOT but they definitely do need to be properly maintained and inspected.
Commercial Vehicles like light and medium-duty trucks, work vans, small container and flatbed trailers may be included in the BIT Program and DOT Inspection guidelines depending on the purposes of use and your industry of work. The laws and regulations around this are ambiguous.
Commercial Vehicles under 26,000 lbs. GVWR that haul hazardous goods, frequently haul across state lines, or haul trailers more than 40 ft. in length are likely included in the BIT Program. The laws on this are currently limited and ambiguous but California will likely shift towards including all commercial vehicles regardless of weight, height, goods hauled, and distance in the BIT program. These vehicles, however, are included in the DOT Annual Inspection guidelines.
Vehicles weighing less than 26000 lbs. GVWR will almost always be required to maintain an Annual DOT Inspection. As mentioned above - in California - these vehicles may be regulated under the BIT Program depending on the situation but regardless need to be kept properly maintained and inspected.
At 99 Glide, we offer inspections on these vehicles too. For fleet customers, we can implement a 120-Day Inspection interval or simply maintain an annual DOT inspection - depending on your situation. Our approach to maintenance and inspections here is the same as for Heavy-Duty.
